Envisioning the Future of The University of Texas at Austin Together
The University of Texas at Austin has begun the process to update its campus master Plan for the first time since 2013 in partnership with a team of interdisciplinary planners and designers from Sasaki Associates. The campus master plan will guide UT through a pivotal moment as the city and state establish themselves as global centers of business, culture, and innovation — positioning the University to shape this evolution and extend its impact across Texas and beyond.
About and Vision
The University is at a pivotal moment of growth and change in the midst of a dynamic city. The Campus Master Plan is needed to define a clear, actionable path as the University builds new spaces, reinvests in existing ones, and plans for the future that supports a vibrant Longhorn culture, strengthens learning and research, reimagines residential life, prioritizes safe, accessible, and modern campus environments, and fosters collaboration and innovation that will shape the UT campus for generations to come.
Process and Timeline
The Campus Master Plan process will begin with a robust discovery phase from the spring through early summer of 2026. During this phase, the University will gather information, engage the campus community to identify needs, priorities and goals, and establish strategic priorities. After that, plan preparation will begin and extend into the summer of 2027.
To Our Community
We are eager to hear from you. There will be multiple opportunities for faculty, staff, students, and community members to get involved throughout the planning process. Engagement activities will likely begin later in the spring and will be announced here.
